Plimsouls

Then: One of a group of bands from the Los Angeles area playing power-pop in the mid-80's, (originally formed as the Tone Dogs) the Plimsouls consisted of Peter Case (vocals/guitar), Lou Ramirez (drums), Dave Pahoa (bass), and Eddie Munoz (lead guitar). After creating a strong local live reputation, in 1980 they recorded their low-budget debut Zero Hour for their own label Beat Records. Their love of 60's pop was more fully realized on the Planet Records release The Plimsouls, whose vibrant pop tunes were given a clearer production. In 1983 they signed with Geffen Records to get bigger distribution. Again the band stayed long enough for one album. That album would be the widely acclaimed Everywhere At Once, which included the song "A Million Miles Away" which was issued as a 12-inch single while between labels. The song became a hit thanks to a new vehicle in music promotion called 'movie soundtracks'. Not only were 3 songs from Everywhere At Once on the soundtrack to Valley Girl, but they also played the bar band in most of the club scenes. Tangiable success never found them though and Peter Case went solo.

Now: Peter Case continues to write new material and record new albums. He has gotten the band together at off times for live gigs but has put the band's future to the backburner.
