| Frida Then: After the breakup of Abba, Anni-Frid Synni-Lyngstad decided to try the solo arena. She was the first of the group to make a solo album, which was produced by Phil Collins. Downbeat in tone, a lot of the songs reflected the breakdown of both Phil and Frida's marriages and included a few tracks written by Per Gessle (later of Roxette). In 1983, "I Know There's Something Going On" reached #13 in the US and was written by the same man who would pen the first solo hit for another Abba refugee, Angetha Faltskog. She also had minor European hits with the songs "To Turn To Stone," a duet with B.A. Robertson "Time," and "Shine" the title track to her follow-up album. Now: She has ventured away from the music industry to pursue environmental concerns. |
