| Ford, Lita Then: Ford was an original member of the band The Runaways, joining the band at age 15. A disagreement within the band over musical direction forced an early end in 1979. Ford went on to explore a solo career on the US glam metal circuit (subsidized by a job as a beautician). Her debut album Dancin' On The Edge made a minor impact on the US album charts reaching number 66. Although, four years later in 1988 came the album Lita. With her third album, The Bride Wore Black, she reached the Top 30 and spawned a US #12 hit with "Kiss Me Deadly." A duet from the same album with Ozzy Osbourne, "Close My Eyes Forever" would become a top 10 hit. Later that year she married W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes, and would later prove to be a mistake. Now: She continued recording with the albums Stiletto and Dangerous Curves in 1991, but seeing a drop in the market for metal music (being abandoned for 'grunge') has taken a sabbatical. She has made assurances to a return to recording soon. |
