The Call

Then: Formed in the San Francisco area in 1980, the alternative rock group The Call made their debut in 1982 with an eponymous album whose passionate music earned them comparison to the Clash, U2, the Band and Peter Gabriel. 1983's Modern Romans won the group an underground following thanks to the single and MTV hit "The Walls Came Down." The group composed of Michael Been (vocals & bass), Tom Ferrier (guitar), and Scott Musick (percussion) added keyboardist Jim Goodwin in time for 1984's Scene Beyond Dreams. 1985's Reconciled produced the much played "Everywhere I Go" and "I Still Believe" which expanded the groups following. Following the 1987 release of Into the Woods, The Call scored another hit with 1989's Let the Day Begin whose title track was another radio favorite.

Now: Unfortunately, after the release of Red Moon in 1990, The Call disbanded and Michael Been began a solo career, releasing his debut album On The Verge Of A Nervous Breakthrough, in 1994. The Call reunited in 1997 with To Heaven And Back. The Call continues to be honest to itself and their fan's with Been's introspective lyrics supported by solid musicians. In 2000, The Call released Live Under A Red Moon a collection of live material from their 1992 Red Moon Tour.
