| Aztec Camera Then: Aztec Camera was formed in 1980 by Roddy Frame to showcase his songwriting talent. The UK band started off with two other members Dave Mulholland (drums) and Campbell Owens (bass), but soon became a rotating cast of players hired out by Frame. The band's debut album High Land, Hard Rain collected critical praise and three hits on the UK independent charts. The song "Oblivious" coasted into the UK #18 spot. The next few albums showed a blossoming songwriter honing his craft. The 1987 album Love was somewhat overlooked until two further hit singles "How Men Are" and "Somewhere In My Heart" stimulated sales. After 3 more years they returned with the highly acclaimed Stay with the single "The Crying Scene."
