| Anything Box Then: Anything Box is a dance music trio from New Jersey consisting of singer Claude S., plus Dania Morales and Paul Rijnders. In 1986, the first incarnation of Anything Box performs at a private party where admission was charged. Three songs from their demo make the Top-10 at their local college station WRNU. They then expand out of their New Jersey boundaries and play Allentown, PA and the legendary CBGBS in NY. The band cuts two versions of "Living in Oblivion," move to California and add a new band member. "Living in Oblivion" becomes a number 1 radio/club song and Epic signs the band. The song charts at #65 and after a follow-up album Worth with Gareth Jones (produced DM, Erasure, etc.) the band would leave Epic after their push for a more rock sound. They would later release the album Hope with the renewed faith in what they are doing. Now: A video for the song "45" from the album Elektrodelica was released. Anything Box recently released The Recovered EP. This is a small collection of songs written during and after the recording of Hope. Claude was able to salvage some old DATS and what he found were gems. |
