Animotion

Then: Formed in 1984, vocalists Astrid Plane and Bill Wadhams led this dance/pop quintet to success in 1985 with the song "Obsession" (Billboard #6) and a lesser hit "Let Him Go". But alot changed. They signed to a new label, 4 of the 5 original members (including the vocalists) departed and they hired an actor. It was a lucky busy time for Cynthia Rhodes (who appeared in the movies Staying Alive and Dirty Dancing) who was added to the new line up (along with former Device frontman Paul Engemann), she married Richard Marx on 1/09/89 and helped the band achieve a Top 10 hit with a remake of the Climie Fisher tune "Room To Move" from the movie My Stepmother Is An Alien.

Now: In 1991, Cynthia Rhodes provided background vocals for her husband's self-titled album. She also starred in Curse Of The Crystal Eye in '91. She has recently added vocals to Fee Waybill's (ex-Tubes) new solo album.
