| A Flock Of Seagulls Then: AFOS formed in Liverpool, England with Mike Score, his brother Ali, Paul Reynolds, and Frank Maudsley did better in America than back home. They were undeservingly pigeonholed into the "One Hit Wonder" category. Their 1982 U.S. Top 10 hit "I Ran" seemed to haunt them throughout their career. Other U.S. hits came with "Space Age Love Song" (#30) and "Wishing (I Had A Photograph Of You)" (#26). 1984's single "The More You Live, The More You Love" was pretty much the last thing that got airplay for them during the decade. Now: After ending a 9 year silence with the album The Light At The End Of The World, AFOS has been busy. Mike Score remains the only original member of the band. They've been touring, making cameo appearances in movies and recording new material. They signed to Cleopatra Records and have a new album due out. They've currently written a sequel to "Wishing..." called aptly "Wishing 2" and retooled "I Ran" that they've been performing live. |
