Wishbone Ash founding guitarist Andy Powell has announced that he is seeking legal recourse over former founding bassist/vocalist Martin Turner registering the band's name in the U.K. and using it to promote shows in Germany.  Powell has claimed that he became the sole remaining original member of the band in 1993, registered the trademark for the band in 1998 and has since released several DVDs and CDs of new material.  Turner has asserted that Powell was required to consult the other original members of the band, who had at no time sold or otherwise forfeited their rights and alleged Powell sold rights to many of the original group's co-owned recordings without their consent.

Jo Wood divorced her Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood husband of 24 years on Nov. 11th on grounds of adultery according to the Huffington Post.  The much rumored affair between Ronnie and 20 year-old Ekaterina Ivanova is expected to be the reason for the split.  A £6.5 million settlement has been reported.  Meanwhile, the band's 1991 film Live At The Max -- the first feature-length concert movie to be shot using IMAX technology -- was released on Blu-ray and DVD this week.

Just after recovering from a respiratory illness, Morrissey returned to the stage at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.  Midway through, "Black Cloud," the second song in his set, the 50 year-old was struck in the eye by a plastic bottle of beer thrown from the crowd.  He promptly stood up and told the crowd of 8,000 "goodnight."  Fans chanted his name in hopes he'd resume the show but an announcement was made 5 minutes later saying that he had been hit in the head and would not continue.

Bad Lieutenant have released a statement announcing their reluctant cancellation of their U.S. tour dates due to more stringent immigration laws and changing visa parameters resulting in an inability to process the necessary paperwork.  "We plan to reschedule the Chicago and New York shows along with some additional U.S. dates in Spring 2010."

Michael Jackson's This Is It soundtrack dropped a spot to #2 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.  The Glee Cast's Glee: Season One: The Music, Vol. 1 debuted at #4.  Sting's If On A Winter's Night... fell 3 places to #9.  Foo Fighters' Greatest Hits debuted at #11.  Slayer's World Painted Blood debuted at #12.  Rod Stewart's Soulbook dropped 9 spots to #13.  Barbra Streisand's Love Is The Answer fell 8 places to #33.  BeBe & CeCe Winans' Still dropped 12 spots to #36.  Nirvana's Live At Reading debuted at #37.

Michael Franti & Spearhead featuring Cherine Anderson's "Say Hey (I Love You)" climbed 5 spots to #33 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Bon Jovi's The Circle debuted at #2 on the U.K. Albums chart.  Foo Fighters' Greatest Hits debuted at #4.  Michael Jackson's This Is It soundtrack fell 3 places to #6.  Fleetwood Mac's The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac dropped 2 spots to #12.  Whitney Houston's I Look To You fell 6 places to #13.  Sting's If On A Winter's Night... debuted at #15.  Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again: The Very Best Of Vera Lynn dropped 5 spots to #18.  The Bee Gees' The Ultimate debuted at #19.  Madonna's Celebration fell a place to #26.  Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Frankie Say Greatest debuted at #27.  Whitney Houston's The Ultimate Collection dropped 6 spots to #28.  Nirvana's Live At Reading debuted at #32.  Cliff Richard & The Shadows' Reunited fell 7 places to #33.  Alison Moyet's Best Of Alison Moyet dropped 10 spots to #34.  Rod Stewart's Some Guys Have All The Luck debuted at #35.  Spandau Ballet's Once More fell 21 places to #37.  Harry Connick, Jr.'s Your Songs dropped 11 spots to #39.

Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" fell 6 places to #14 on the U.K. Singles chart.  Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" debuted at #19.  Bon Jovi's "We Weren't Born To Follow" debuted at #25.  Foo Fighters' "Wheels" retained the #38 slot.

On Tuesday, Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler joined The Joe Perry Project on stage to say, "I just want New York to know, I'm not leaving Aerosmith."  He would also tell a cameraman from TMZ that "there is absolutely no validity to rumor that Aerosmith is breaking up."  Joe Perry posted to his Twitter page on Nov. 9th, "Aerosmith is positively looking for a new singer to work with."  He later reiterated, "Don't despair; Aerosmith not splitting up."  

New Kids On The Block's Jordan Knight has launched Jordan Idol Talent Search in New York.  Knight is seeking male and female singers to possibly sing back-up or a duet on his forthcoming solo album.  More information can be found at his www.twitter.com/jordanknight page and you must be 18 to be considered.  Meanwhile, bandmate Joey McIntyre will release a 7-track EP, Here We Go Again, on Nov. 17th via digital retailers.  The title track will be released as the first single.  He hopes to release a physical CD to stores next year.

Rod Stewart recently told Rolling Stone magazine that he has been talking with guitarist Jeff Beck about doing an album together.  Stewart believes that he's closer to working on that album than a Faces reunion.

Accept have been working in a Birmingham studio on their first new album in 13 years and first with new vocalist Mark Tornillo.

Eagle Rock Entertainment will release the Status Quo Blu-ray DVD, Pictures: Live At Montreux, on Jan. 19th.

Iron Maiden guitarist Janick Gers recently told BBC News that the group have started writing material for their 15th studio album.

Tiffany has released a new CD single, "Someday Soon," with Hydra Productions which will raise funds for the cancer charity, The Caring Place.  The song can be purchased at the store at www.HydraMusicProductions.com.

Obituary rhythm guitarist Trevor Peres has launched his own Bar-B-Que sauce line called T-Bone's Famous.  Sauces can be ordered (as well as merchandise and recipes) at www.TBonesFamous.com.

A&E's The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty will premiere on Dec. 13th with back-to-back episodes.  The show will settle into a Sunday night time slot continuing the following week.  Meanwhile, the Michael Jackson concert film, This Is It, has surpassed $200 million in box office receipts worldwide during the first two weeks of release making it the 22nd biggest grossing movie of 2009.

Mattel is launching a Ladies Of The 80s collection of Barbie Dolls featuring Cyndi Lauper, Joan Jett and Debbie Harry.  A Barbra Streisand doll is also on the way but not part of the collection.

Former Vinnie Vincent Invasion vocalist Robert Fleischman has a new album, Look At The Dream, available via his Web site, MySpace page and U.S. stores.

According to SI.com, the Who will be performing at Super Bowl XLIV on Feb. 7th in Miami, Florida, during the halftime show.  Frontman Roger Daltrey has been on a solo tour but recently has mentioned that he and bandmate Pete Townshend were working on material for their next album.  Daltrey had to cancel his Nov. 10th performance in Baltimore due to a throat issue.

The U.S. release date for W.A.S.P.'s new studio album, Babylon, will be moved up to Nov. 17th (officially on Dec. 8th) due to its high charting in several European countries.  This is being done so fans do not have to pay a higher price on an import to get it now.

Ronnie Spector's long-delayed studio album, The Last Of The Rock Stars, heads to stores in North American on Nov. 10th.

Dee Snider of Twisted Sister and Lars Ulrich of Metallica will reportedly appear as themselves in the upcoming comedy film Get Him To The Greek which heads to theaters in June.

The success of the first volume of music by the Glee Cast has inspired a second volume due out on Dec. 8th.  The album will include covers of "Endless Love," "Don't Stand So Close To Me/Young Girl," "Lean On Me," "True Colors" and "Jump."

Marillion founding guitarist Steve Rothery will see the release of, Ostara, the new album by his The Wishing Tree project on Jan. 19th via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Work on the Mike Piscitelli-directed Ozzy Osbourne film, Wreckage Of My Past, is reportedly less than a month from being completed.

Wynonna recently told Billboard.com that she and her mother Naomi Judd will work in some capacity in 2010.  "I just felt it in my spirit.  A couple weeks ago I said, 'It's 2010.  It's been 25 years.  It's take your mother to work year."  Wynonna also has a new young adult readers fiction novel, The Restless Heart, due out next year and is starting work on her next album.

Former Helloween vocalist Michael Kiske has launched a new band called Unisonic with guitarist Mandy Meyer, bassist Dennis Ward and drummer Kosta Zafiriou.  They are already writing music for their debut album due out in late spring.

Barbra Streisand will appear on the Nov. 16th episode of NBC's The Doctors to discuss heart health awareness for women.

Slash has released the CD single, "Sahara," in Japan which includes a cover of the Guns N' Roses classic, "Paradise City," featuring Cypress Hill and Fergie as a B-side.  According to the guitarist, it will not appear on his forthcoming solo album which he's finished recording.

REO Speedwagon are planning to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Hi Infidelity album with a commemorative reissue in January of 2011.

Former Tigertailz vocalist Steevi Jaimz has released his new studio album, My Private Hell, via Cargo/SCS Records.  A free download of his new single, "Amazing," can be found at www.SteeviJaimz.com.

Nick Cave & Warren Ellis' soundtrack to The Road will be released via Mute on Jan. 12th.  

Paul McCartney's 33-song CD/DVD, Good Evening New York City, heads to stores next week.  Fans can visit his official Web site to download a free video and MP3 of "Let Me Roll It" from the album.  Meanwhile some footage from McCartney's July concert at Citi Field in New York City will be interspersed with interviews and a 1965 Beatles concert at Shea Stadium for an hour-long Thanksgiving night special on ABC.
