Madonna's Manhattan neighbor Karen George has sued her co-op and the building's management company in New York State Supreme Court over the singer's habitual rehearsing to loud music being a nuisance for other residents.  George has been forced to leave the building during these rehearsal sessions because the noise and vibrations become "unbearable."  The neighbor lives directly above Madonna in the Upper West Side building.

According to an announcement on their Web site, Def Leppard have canceled the third leg of their North American tour due to unspecified "personal matters" and that "unfortunately life's commitments need to be the priority."  Several online sources have dispelled rumors that health issues were the cause.  That leg of the tour was to begin on Thursday and go through late November.

Guitarist Tony Iommi recently talked with BBC Radio 2's Radcliffe & Marconie Show about his current hiatus from Heaven And Hell.  "I've had this problem with my hand and I'm having stem cell treatment on it," said Iommi.  "I have to wear a guard on my had to prevent me from banging it.  But it's coming along good."  Iommi has promised more shows next year as it marks the 30th anniversary of the Heaven & Hell album.

R.E.M., Rosanne Cash, Pearl Jam, Bonnie Raitt, Trent Reznor, Billy Bragg, Jackson Browne, David Byrne, T-Bone Burnett and Steve Earle are among the recording artists that have endorsed the campaign to Close Gitmo Now and their effort seeking the declassification of government documents on music-related abuses.

The Centric Presents: 2009 Soul Train Awards nominees have been announced.  The nominations include Whitney Houston for Best Female R&B/Soul Artist, Charlie Wilson for Best Male R&B/Soul Artist, Ziggy Marley for Best Reggae Artist and BeBe and CeCe Winans for Best Gospel Performance/Male, Female or Group (for "Close To You.")  Michael Jackson has been named Entertainer of the Year.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood will be honored with Q Magazine's Classic Track award during the Q Awards to be held in London next week.

The Royal Mail in Britain has confirmed that they will issue a special range of stamps featuring classic artwork from New Order's Power, Corruption And Lies, The Clash's London Calling, Primal Scream's Screamadelica and 7 others on Jan. 7th.

Keith Richards was given the Rock Immortal Award at Spike TV's Scream 2009 awards on Oct. 17th.  The award was presented to him by his silver screen "son" Johnny Depp.

Congrats to Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor who married vocalist Mariqueen Maandig on Oct. 17th.

Barbra Streisand's Love Is The Answer held onto the #4 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart on sales of 49,000 copies.  The Flaming Lips' Embryonic debuted at #8 on sales of less than 32,000 copies.  Kiss' Sonic Boom fell 9 places to #11.  Whitney Houston's I Look To You dropped 2 spots to #15.  Alice In Chains' Black Gives Way To Blue fell 5 places to #17.  Pearl Jam's Backspacer dropped 5 spots to #21.  Bob Dylan's Christmas In The Heart debuted at #23.  Harry Connick, Jr.'s Your Songs fell 6 places to #24.  BeBe & CeCe Winans' Still dropped 11 spots to #25.  Rosanne Cash's The List fell 6 places to #28.  Madonna's Celebration dropped 18 spots to #38.

Michael Franti & Spearhead featuring Cherine Anderson's "Say Hey (I Love You)" dropped 6 spots to #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" climbed a spot to #2 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart.  The Pet Shop Boys' "Did You See Me Coming?" gained a place to #4.

Madonna's Celebration dropped a spot to #3 on the U.K. Albums chart.  Vera Lynn's We'll Meet Again: The Very Best Of Vera Lynn fell a place to #6.  Barbra Streisand's Love Is The Answer dropped 6 spots to #7.  Cliff Richard & The Shadows' Reunited fell 8 places to #12.  Chris Rea's Still So Far To Go: The Best Of Chris Rea dropped 9 spots to #17.  Andy Williams' The Very Best Of Andy Williams fell 8 places to #18.  Madness' Total Madness dropped 12 spots to #27.  Bob Dylan's Christmas In The Heart debuted at #40.

Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" dropped 2 spots to #14 on the U.K. Singles chart.  Madonna's "Celebration" fell 12 places to #37.

Chickenfoot's self-titled debut album has been certified Gold (having sold more than 500,000 copies in the U.S.) by the RIAA.  The new deluxe DVD/CD version of the album heads to stores on Nov. 1st.

Kansas' new live DVD, There's Know Place Like Home, debuted at #5 on the Billboard DVD top sales chart.

Go West's Peter Cox has joined Manfred Mann's Earth Band as their new lead singer.  He will be performing with them during their European tour.  This will take place along with his commitments to Go West which includes their 25th anniversary tour starting in April.

Scorpions guitarist Mathias Jabs recently told Scorps News, "We are working on 12 songs at the moment.  Great stuff.  Definitely 'Scorpionized' in sound and attitude.  More towards the early Eighties."  The album is due out in Europe in March and a U.S. record deal is currently being worked on.

Little Angels' 1991 studio album, Young Gods, has been reissued in a remastered version with 5 bonus tracks by French rock label Bad Reputation.  It can be purchased at the www.BadReputation.fr Web site.

On Nov. 3rd, Time Life will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies with a 3-DVD collection containing 44 performances as well as acceptance speeches and never-before-seen backstage and rehearsal footage.  On Nov. 28th, a PBS one-hour Rock and Roll Hall of Fame special will air hosted by Paul Shaffer.  Meanwhile, some of this year's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame performances at the end of the month have been announced which include Ozzy Osbourne with Metallica, B.B. King with Stevie Wonder, Buddy Guy with Eric Clapton and Annie Lennox and Lenny Kravitz with Aretha Franklin.

Winger's new studio album, Karma, will be released via NEH Records in the U.S. on Oct. 27th and is currently shipping in the U.K. via Frontiers Records.

U2's concert on Sunday at the Rose Bowl will be broadcast via a live stream at their YouTube channel free for any fan wishing to tune in from the 16 countries supported.  This is the group's second effort at live-streaming their shows but will be their first to go start-to-finish live stream.  Meanwhile, the Spider-Man musical has suffered from production and financial issues forcing a delay until spring.

"Say Yeah" will be the next single to be released off of Kiss' Sonic Boom album when released as a digital download on Oct. 27th.

Guitarist Warren DeMartini has been posting some information on Ratt's new studio album due out in January.  Some footage shot from the recording of one of the tracks has surfaced at his www.WarrenDeMartini.com.

It seems that Rachael Ray isn't just a good cook or host... she's also a good artist advocate to have on your side.  She was recently taping an episode of her show with Daryl Hall and John Oates, scheduled to air on Nov. 6th, when she found out they hadn't been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  So, she is urging fans to leave comments on her blog in favor of their induction.

UB40 will release Best Of Labour Of Love on Nov. 23rd in the U.K.  The 17-track collection contains songs from the Labour Of Love I, II and III as well as 2 new songs from an upcoming Labour Of Love IV album.

Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil has plans to release a new solo album next year and has tapped Night Ranger's Jack Blades to produce.

According to the Los Angeles Times, The Flaming Lips have recorded a cover of Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon album and during a special show in L.A. during a special Q&A session said that it could become a digital-only release and includes a guest appearance by Henry Rollins.

The Quireboys have a new acoustic/Americana style album in the works entitled Halfpenny Dancer.  Fans can check out samples of their new recordings (a cover of UFO's "Love To Love" and "There She Goes Again") at their MySpace page.

Due to strong demand, Metallica's first-ever French concert DVD, Francais Pour Une Nuit, which was to be sold only in French retail stores will now also be made available via Universal Music (at www.MetallicaNimes.com) and www.Metallica.com.

38 Special will be making a special appearance on the new CMT series Road Pranks.  That episode will air on the network on Oct. 30th and re-air on Halloween, Nov. 1st and Nov. 3rd.

AC/DC's concert film, No Bull, will be released on Blu-ray via Sony Music on Dec. 8th.  The concert was recorded in 1996 during their performance in Madrid, Spain, at the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas.

The Damned have been forced to cancel their October U.S. tour dates as their U.S. Visas had still yet to be approved.  "We are devastated to be disappointing our fans in the U.S. who wished to see us on this tour, and sympathize with all those who have made travel arrangements and other commitments."

REO Speedwagon's first-ever Christmas album, Not So Silent Night...Christmas With REO Speedwagon, can be pre-ordered at their www.REOSpeedwagon.com Web site and will ship by Nov. 1st.  Meanwhile, the band will perform on NBC's Holiday Celebration On Ice on Nov. 29th.

Nitzer Ebb have debuted their new song, "Never Known," on the Saw VI soundtrack which is available now.  The band released their first new material in over a decade on the Saw IV soundtrack.

Dave Grohl, John Paul Jones and Josh Homme will release the self-titled debut of their Them Crooked Vultures project on Nov. 17th via DGC/Interscope Records.  The first single, "New Fang," from the album will be released to radio on Oct. 26th.

A new 13-track compilation by Roc-A-Fella entitled The Village: A Celebration Of The Music Of Greenwich Village will be released on Nov. 3rd.  The album includes songs by the Cowboy Junkies, Bruce Hornsby, John Oates, Lucinda Williams, Shelby Lynne and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

Australia's Raven Records have announced plans to release a new Fleshtones collection It's "Super-Rock" Time!: The IRS Years 1980-85.

Alan Jackson will see a new the release of a new 12-track collection, Songs Of Love And Heartache, released exclusively via Cracker Barrel Old Country Store starting Nov. 2nd.  The CD will include the previously-unreleased songs "That's What I'd Be Like Without You" and "Nothing Sure Looked Good On You."  Also for sale along with the CD will be a line of clothing, food items and collectibles the store chain created in conjunction with Jackson.

Jeff Scott Soto's new live CD and DVD, One Night In Madrid, will be released on Jan. 12th.  The show was the grand finale to his tour supporting his latest album, Beautiful Mess.

The highly anticipated 55-date reunion tour by the Cocteau Twins has been abandoned at the last minute after a disagreement arose between Elizabeth Fraser and Robin Guthrie.

Siobhan Fahey's new studio album under the Shakespears Sister monicker, Songs From The Red Room, will be released in the U.K. on Nov. 16th.

A secret Cold War document has been de-classified that lists 38 bands that the Soviet Union refused to allow to be heard in youth discos for reasons that include neofascism, anti-communism, racism, punk, sex, violence, anti-Soviet propaganda, homosexuality, religious obscurantism and nationalism.  Among those bands were:  the Sex Pistols, B-52s, Madness, the Clash, the Stranglers, Kiss, Krokus, Styx, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, AC/DC, Sparks, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Nazareth, Scorpions, Genghis Khan, UFO, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, Donna Summer, Tina Turner, Junior English, Canned Heat, the Ramones, Van Halen, Julio Iglesias, Yazoo, Depeche Mode, Village People, 10cc, the Stooges and Blondie.

Megadeth are the latest act to get their own Artist Personal Experience radio station, Megadeth Radio, distributed across Clear Channel Radio's "iheartradio" network at www.iheartradio.com.  The 24-hour channel launched on Thursday.

Rickie Lee Jones will release her new studio album, Balm In Gilead, in November which includes guest appearances by Bill Frisell and Victoria Williams.  

Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder will appear on the CD sister compilation to Jack Johnson's En Concert film due out Oct. 27th.  The song will be Vedder's performance with Johnson on "Constellations" at the Bonnaroo Festival in 2008.

German metal act Mad Max will see their 1982 debut album, Mad Max, 1984's Rollin' Thunder, 1985's Stormchild and 1985's Night Of Passion reissued in digitally remastered versions via Metal Mind Productions on Nov. 9th.

A new book by Martin Popoff entitled A Castle Full Of Rascals: Deep Purple '83 - '09 has been completed.  The nearly 300-page publication contains many photos as well as a lot of previously-unused interviews from Popoff's chats with the band members.  It can be ordered at www.MartinPopoff.com.

According to Peter Hook, the Freebass album has been finished.  First up will be the release of the EP, Two Worlds Collide, which includes guest vocals from Pete Wylie and Tim Burgess.  The physical album will surface around January which features the band's permanent vocalist Gary Briggs.

Rob Zombie's new studio album, Hellbilly Deluxe 2: Noble Jackals, Penny Dreadfuls And The Systematic Dehumanization Of Cool, has been pushed back to an undetermined 2010 release date.
