It seems that a monetary settlement hasn't been reached in the Paul McCartney and Heather Mills divorce. The two will head to divorce court in February. It is rumored that the main thing holding up a settlement is Mills not wanting to sign a gag order that would prevent her from discussing their marriage in a possible book.

A lawsuit has been filed against Michael Jackson by the prince of Dubai. Meanwhile, the singer promises to share "exciting and surprising news" from his "other efforts" soon.

A concert headlined by Bryan Adams, organized by the One Voice organization, promoting a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestinian conflict has been postponed after threats were made to Palestinians supporting the event. The plan was to hold simultaneous concerts in Tel Aviv and the West Bank town of Jericho.

Bobby Brown has denied reports that he suffered a mild heart attack and went into the hospital for just a checkup. Brown's attorney, Phaedra Parks, told The Associated Press that the 38 year-old singer had severe chest pains on Tuesday night and was taken to two hospitals. She also said that he was released from the hospital on Wednesday morning in good condition. "This morning they did diagnose him as suffering from a mild heart attack... they attributed to stress and diet." Brown says that he has no idea where the heart attack thing came from.

An ongoing throat infection for Sting has forced the cancellation of four of the Police's European tour dates with hopes to reschedule.

Bruce Springsteen's Magic has claimed the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 album chart (his 8th #1 album) selling 335,000 copies. Reba McEntire's Reba Duets dropped two spots to #8. Annie Lennox's Songs Of Mass Destruction debuted at #9. John Fogerty's Revival made its debut at #14.

Eric Clapton's Complete Clapton debuted at #2 on the U.K. Album chart. Bruce Springsteen's Magic dropped from the top album to #4. Ali Campbell's solo album, Running Free, debuted at #9. Phil Collins' solo collection Hits dropped two places to #10 while his classic hit "In The Air Tonight" holds the #14 spot on the U.K. Singles chart. Annie Lennox's Songs Of Mass Destruction dropped 11 places to #18 while Bob Dylan's Dylan fell 10 to #20. Stevie Wonder's Number Ones debuted at #23 on the chart.

Bruce Springsteen's Magic holds the #1 spot on the European Albums chart followed by Mark Knopfler's Kill To Get Crimson at #6, Luciano Pavarotti's Pavarotti Forever at #8 and Annie Lennox's Songs Of Mass Destruction at #9.

A remix of Stevie Nicks' 1983 hit single "Stand Back" has spent 6 weeks on the Canadian Singles chart and climbs a spot this week to #12. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph a few months ago, Nicks said that she isn't willing to carry on with Fleetwood Mac unless Christine McVie returns.

According to Australia's Daily Telegraph, AC/DC's new concert retrospective DVD, Plug Me In, is expected to shatter international sales records with more than 500,000 copies pre-ordered world-wide.

Former Judas Priest drummer Dave Holland plans to write his life story when he is freed from prison. He has denied any involvement in the attempted rape of a special needs student but was convicted of the crime in 2004 and sentenced to 8 years in jail.

Mission U.K. principal Wayne Hussey has recently decided to "call it a day" for the band. In making this decision, he has also decided to play a Farewell Tour in Europe starting in February. The London performances at Shepherds Bush Empire will remain the previously announced 'album per night' event (covering the band's first four albums) and will be the group's final shows. In a statement released by Hussey, "I'm not gonna say I'll never come back to The Mission, as you know, this has happened before back in the mid 90's and I may well want a return to doing this after a sabbatical. Who knows? I certainly don't at this point."

Kinks singer/songwriter Ray Davies will release his new studio album, Working Man's Cafe, as a 'cover-mount' CD with 1.5 million copies of the Sunday Times U.K. newspaper on Oct. 21st. The album is expected to be released via V2 there on Oct. 29th containing 2 additional tracks. A U.S. release date has not been set.

Pato Banton will celebrate the 20th anniversary of his Never Give album in on Oct. 9th. Out of print for over 5 years, the album will be re-released containing 2 new bonus tracks. Banton will also be heading out on tour dates on the west coast this month going into late December.

XYZ's Terry Ilous has hooked up with horror film director Dave Sterling who will be directing a video for "Got To Believe" from Ilous' new CD, Here And Gone. It is expected to air on Yahoo! Music, MSN, MySpaceTV and YouTube.

Janet Jackson has been busy working on several different projects. Her first new film in 7 years, Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married, has debuted at #1 at theaters brining in an estimated $21.5 million. She is penning a memoir based on her struggle with weight loss. Jackson is about 45% done with her Island Def Jam debut album and has talked about possibly working with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on a couple of things.

Testament have brought in Slayer's Paul Bostaph to fill in for vocalist Nick Barker in the studio as they record their new album due out as early as spring. Barker was unable to record with the group due to Homeland Security and International Work Visa issues.

Anne Clark has plans to head into the recording studio to record her first full-length album since 2004's Notes Taken Traces Left.

Reports that rapper M.C. Hammer had passed away have been cleared up. According to a representative, fans read about the death of a man called Burrell and confused it with Stanley Burrell (Hammer's real name.)

Mel Tillis and George Jones are among the artists that are featured on the recently released compilation disc, The Greatest Country Love Songs.

Concert promotion firm Live Nation Inc. is reportedly close to signing Madonna to a wide-ranging $120 million deal. The deal, according to a story at the Wall Street Journal's Web site, would be paid in cash and stock in exchange for the company distributing 3 studio albums, promoting concert tours, selling her merchandise and licensing her name. Madonna has been with Warner Music Group since her 1983 self-titled debut and the label is still owed a new studio album and a greatest hits package.

NOFX will release their new live album, They've Actually Gotten Worse Live on Nov. 20th. The recording was made during a 3 night stand at Slim's in San Francisco.

Sony Legacy plans to reissue Danzig's self-titled 1988 debut on Nov. 13th as well as 1990's Danzig II: Lucifuge, 1992's Danzig III: How The Gods Kill, 1993's Thrall - DemonSweatLive and 1994's Danzig IV. The albums are direct reissues (due to American Recordings moving from Warner Music Group and then to Sony BMG) and have no bonus or new material.

The official television soundtrack to House M.D. has been released (heading to U.K. stores on Oct. 22nd) and includes rare and unreleased tracks from Michael Penn, Elvis Costello, Sarah McLachlan and Joe Cocker.

The Eagles are reportedly close to signing a deal that will see them performing at half-time during the 2008 Super Bowl. Their new album, Long Road Out Of Eden, is due out on Oct. 30th.

Queensryche will release their new single, "Welcome To The Machine," from their upcoming album, Take Cover, as a digital download on iTunes starting Oct. 16th. The song is a Pink Floyd cover from the album due out via Rhino on Nov. 13th.

Bob Mould has signed a deal with Anti- for the release of his new 10-track solo album, District Line, on Feb. 5th. Mould has called the new album a logical extension of 2005's Body Of Song. He's currently on tour promoting his new live DVD, Circle Of Friends.

Depeche Mode have been nominated for Best Inter Act artist at the 2007 MTV EMA's to be held in Munich on Nov. 1st. Votes by the fans can be submitted at www.depechemode.com/emas07/

Spear Of Destiny plan to release their new studio album, Imperial Prototype, in the U.K. on Nov. 5th.

Saigon Kick's Matt Kramer will release his literary debut, An American Profit, via Lascivious Books. The book of poetry will be available exclusively through his official Web site (www.mattkramer.net) on Oct. 31st.

New Order's Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert have remixed two tracks ("God Given" and "Zero Sum") for Nine Inch Nails' new remixed album, Year Zero Remixed, due out Nov. 20th. Trent Reznor has said that he reached out to heroes, friends and strangers for the remixers on the album. Reznor recently posted a message to his NIN.com Web site: "Hello everyone. I've waited a LONG time to be able to make the following announcement: as of right now Nine Inch Nails is a totally free agent, free of any recording contract with any label. I have been under recording contracts for 18 years and have watched the business radically mutate from one thing to something inherently very different and it gives me great pleasure to be able to finally have a direct relationship with the audience as I see fit and appropriate. Look for some announcements in the near future regarding 2008. Exciting times, indeed." The band had been with Interscope records since 1994 and Year Zero Remixed will be the final album via the label (although the label does own the rights to a future greatest hits album.) Reznor has said that he will head into the studio to start work on his next album (which he couldn't start until his label deal was over.)

Motley Crue is expected to release their new 23-track double-CD live album, Carnival Of Sins, on Oct. 23rd. The set has been available exclusively at Wal-Mart since last year.

Legendary rapper Rakim has been touring with the first Hip-Hop Live! tour running through Nov. 21st. He still has plans to release his new album, The Seventh Seal, via his own G&E Trust label but has not set a date. Rakim does have plans to record a few more collaborative tracks for the album.

Reports claiming that Bono has contributed a song for the Spice Girls new Greatest Hits collection have been denied by U2's manager.

Genesis will release their new boxed set, Genesis 1983-1998, on Nov. 20th via Rhino. The collection is similar to the one released in April but includes their 1983 self-titled album, 1986's Invisible Touch, 1991's We Can't Dance and 1998's Calling All Stations (which featured new vocalist Ray Wilson.) Each of the albums are augmented with a DVD containing video footage and extras from the time period. The set also includes two more discs entitled Extra Tracks which contain odds-and-ends, a live set from their 1983 performance at Knebworth and a 4-song acoustic performance from 2000 which was a tribute to their manager Tony Smith.

MySpace.com has announced that they will exclusively stream the entire new Exodus album, The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A, at the band's page at myspace.com/exodus. The album hits stores on Oct. 23rd (Oct. 26th in Europe.)

Shalamar's Jeffrey Daniel has signed on to be one of the personalities appearing on the new season of the U.K. series I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Echo & The Bunnymen's Ian McCulloch and the Stone Roses' Ian Brown are among the vocalists that have been brought in to record on Freebass' instrumental tracks.

Maybe he didn't find true love but Bret Michaels has reportedly signed on for Rock Of Love 2. The ratings darling will feature more girls (about 20) and may be headed to VH1 early next year. Open casting calls were announced for the show last month. 3.9 million total viewers tuned in to the reunion special for the series.

Wet Wet Wet have plans to release their new studio album, Timeless, on Nov. 12th in the U.K. preceeded by their new single, "Too Many People."

A new expanded edition of N.W.A.'s classic album, Straight Outta Compton, will be released on Dec. 4th which will include 4 covers of songs from the album from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Snoop Dogg, C-Murder and WC as well as a live verson of "Compton's N The House." The album celebrates its 20th anniversary next year. Also due out on the same day is a collection of Eazy-E's collaborations and solo tracks entitled Featuring...Eazy-E.

A Blondie biopic is in the works with Michel Gondry directing. Deborah Harry has given her blessing for Kirsten Dunst to portray her in the film.

R.E.M. have given their previously-unreleased song, "Until The Day Is Done," to CNN's Anderson Cooper 360. The song premiered on the show on Oct. 10th and will also be used in the CNN special Planet In Peril which airs Oct. 23rd and 24th. The band premiered their single, "Bad Day," on the show in 2002. No word on if "Until The Day Is Done" will be included on their new album due out in the spring.

Sebastian Bach was ousted from VH1's Celebrity Rap Superstar after making it to the final 3. His final performance was the Beastie Boys' "Fight For Your Right To Party." The finale next week doubles as a reunion episode.

Shelby Lynne will release her new studio album, Just A Little Lovin', on Feb. 5th. Lynne has credited Barry Manilow with the idea to focus the album on the songbook of Dusty Springfield (9 of the 10 tracks were previously recorded by the late singer.) The disc is her debut album for Lost Highway.

The nominees for the 35th annual American Music Awards have been announced. For the first time, members of the public will be able to pick the winners by voting online at ama.abc.com. Hairspray and Dreamgirls are nominated in the Soundtracks: Favorite Album category.

Lillian Axe's 1988 self-titled debut album and 1989's Love And War have been digitally remastered and will be released on Jan. 22nd (Nov. 19th in Europe.)

Lou Reed has collaborated with The Killers on a song called "Tranquilize" for the band's upcoming B-sides collection.

Warner Music Group will release Led Zeppelin's entire catalog digitally on Nov. 13th. The deal is timed with the release of the double-disc Atlantic/Rhino compilation, Mothership. Verizon Wireless will become the first mobile service provider, via a new exclusive partnership, to deliver ringtones and full-song over-the-air downloads.

Anthrax's Scott Ian has cleared up statements he made about former vocalist Joey Belladonna in an interview on MTV.com that claimed he avoided conversations about doing an album with the band for 3 to 4 months. Ian said that he was not in full possession of the facts until now and that it was unprofessional of him to speak out like that.

A clothing designer has created a limited-edition men's collection based around David Bowie's ever-changing style which includes trench coats, black jeans, puffer vests, skinny ties and music-related t-shirts set to debut at Target stores.

Watershed, the first album of all-new material by k.d. lang since 2000's Invincible Summer, will be released on Feb. 5th via Nonesuch.

Die Form have finished mastering their new album, The Bach Project, and are set to manufacture with a release planned for the end of January.

Redd Kross have been and are currently recording a new studio album. The band have recorded a podcast (available at ReddKross.com) which features a demo from the album.
