Poison bassist Bobby Dall will be sidelined for at least 6 months after injuring his spinal cord. Several discs had to be replaced in his spine during emergency surgery at Omaha's University Of Nebraska Medical Center. The remaining 22 dates of the Glam Slam Metal Jam with Quiet Riot, Warrant and Enuff Z'nuff has been cancelled.

After a month of feuding via the media, Jermaine Jackson will be joining his brothers on stage at the celebration of brother Michael's 30 years as a solo artist.

Fred Schneider of the B-52's will join the band Eat Static in the studio to record vocals and remix the song "Crash And Burn" which band member Merv Pepler wrote with B-52's in mind. The version is expected be released as a single.

The first releases of the new Live At The House Of Blues DVD/VHS series will hit shelves Sept. 11th with Kool And The Gang and Public Enemy starting things off.

A Syd Barrett collection, Wouldn't You Miss Me?, will be released Sept. 11th.

A group of anti-pornography protesters in Provo, Utah have started a campaign to keep a performance by 2 Live Crew from happening in their town. Although, they've collected over a hundred signatures, little can be done to stop the show but police will scrutinize it.

Dinosaur Jr. will release a best-of album, Ear Bleeding Country, on Oct. 2nd. The 19-track collection includes a cover of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven."

The Mission U.K. are in the studio working with Dave Allen mixing their new album, Allure.

Bobby Brown was treated at Morristown Memorial Hospital for 90 minutes after he collapsed in his home recording studio. His wife, Whitney Houston, made a call for paramedics after 3am and said that Bobby has just been working really hard on his new album and wasn't aware of how the heat/humidity affected him. When treated, Brown refused to give a urine or blood sample.

"Weird" Al Yankovic will be directing the video for the title cute to Ben Folds' solo debut, Rockin' The Suburbs, due out Sept. 11th.

Janet Jackson had to cancel her performances in Cleveland, Indianapolis and Pittsburgh due to the flu. They are due to be rescheduled for October.

Rumors have been out about Sinead O'Connor's upcoming marriage to journalist Nick Sommerlad but according to the Irish Mirror... it's already happened. They report that the ceremony was held 3 weeks ago amongst a handful of close friends.

Roland Orzabal's solo debut Tomcats Screaming Outside is due out Sept. 11th.

A California Superior Court judge has refused to throw out a sexual harassment/wrongful termination lawsuit against James Brown by former employee Lisa Ross Agbalaya. The trial is set for Jan. 28th.

Universal Records will release a 4-CD KISS box set Nov. 6th containing early demos, live tracks and rare photos.

Erasure have returned to the studio with producer Gareth Jones to work on a new album. It seems their idea of remixing a track from Loveboat to better suit the U.S. market didn't happen and that album still has no U.S. release date.

Bono has been heading back to Dublin after every performance to spend time with his father who is dying of cancer.

Queensryche's Operation: LiveCrime will be the band's first release on Sanctuary Records available on CD and DVD September 25th. The band are at work on their first studio album for the label.

Neil Diamond's July 28th appearance on Live By Request earned the A&E series it's highest raitings ever. Diamond also earned his highest debut on the Billboard 200 album charts at #15 with his new album Three Chord Opera.

Boy George held auditions last week for a new musical, "Taboo," that he wrote based on his life story.

Frontman for the Beautiful South, Paul Heaton, has put the band and a new album on hold blaming BBC Radio 1 for not playing their music. Their last album, Painting It Red, peaked at #2 on the U.K. album charts last year. BBC Radio 1 has recently heard the same from Depeche Mode who without airplay received a recent Top 10 single.

Stevie Nicks was forced to cancel two shows in northern California due to a sudden illness but she is back on track. No word on rescheduling the missed shows, yet.

It seems John Fogerty wasn't told about the upcoming 6-disc Creedence Clearwater Revival box-set. Although the Fantasy Records publicist states that the package was created with the consent and blessing of all former members sans the deceased Tom Fogerty.

Fabrice Morvan is heading out on the road... as an M.C. Showerpalooza which he hosts allows audience members to hop in a recording booth that resembles a shower (with steam and bubbles) where they can record themselves singing and get a DVD of their performance. Morvan is also working on his second solo release.

Carole King will release her first album in 8 years, Love Makes The World, on Sept. 25th.

Charlatans keyboardist Torry Rogers, who replaced Rob Collins after his death in 1996, has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. He has been responding well to chemotherapy and radiotherapy. A representative of the band announced that they fully intend to honor their upcoming live commitments.

John Mellencamp has penned 5 songs of his musical collaboration with author Stephen King. They hope to wrap up by February.

Yes, Guns N' Roses has strong international fan support. So it seems fitting that Japan will get the first release by the band in quite some time. A DVD of their New Year's Eve show in Las Vegas will be issued on Sept. 21st which includes 4 new songs that possibly will make the long delayed Chinese Democracy album.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Madonna has signed on to lend her voice to the Dreamworks animated film Madagascar.

Emilio Estefan, Jr. has filed a countersuit against a songwriter, Kike Santander, who recently sued him for breach of contract. Estefan's countersuit is for fraud, breach of contract and unfair competition.
