The Canadian Football League team the Winnipeg Blue Bombers have filed a lawsuit against Keystone Entertainment Group claiming that it lost $97,000 when Aerosmith canceled their Aug. 7th performance at their Canad Inns Stadium.  Vocalist Steven Tyler injured his head and neck during a concert two days earlier.  Meanwhile, there may be some light at the end of the tunnel for Aerosmith fans as a U.K. spokesperson for the band (with Tyler) has announced that they have booked appearances at the Download Festival and Sweden Rock Festival in June with more European dates to be announced.  No announcements have been made as to whether this will lead the band to return to the studio to complete their new album.  Tyler has been in rehab since late December to conquer an addiction to painkillers.  Despite the announcement, their Web site has yet to confirm the shows.

The Federal Trade Commission has announced that several thousand Bruce Springsteen fans will be receiving refunds for what are being called deceptive sales practices by TicketsNow, a ticket reselling arm of Ticketmaster.  The company will repay fans "upward of a million dollars" in refunds as it used "deceptive bait-and-switch tactics" to sell tickets to 14 of Springsteen's concerts last year.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled on Friday that Joe Jackson can receive his son's medical records from the hospital where he died.  The judge plans to review the records first before releasing them to Jackson's attorney Brian Oxman.  Oxman reportedly sought the files in an effort to secure a $15,000 monthly stipend for Michael's father but has also said that he needs the records to decide whether to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit.

The Super Bowl half-time performance by The Who could be one of the last ones you see.  Rock Radio reports that Pete Townshend says they are "finished" unless the test of a new in-ear monitoring system goes well in London as doctors have been unable to find a treatment for his tinnitus.  The guitarist says that he is ready for their upcoming Teenage Cancer Trust performance on Mar. 30th to be their last.

According to New York Post's Page Six, Sebastian Bach and Mickey Rourke prevented a party crasher wielding a knife from attacking Axl Rose while Guns N' Roses performed at a small club show in New York's Rose Bar.  Meanwhile, Rose has changed management and is now managed by Doc McGhee (who currently work with Kiss.)

Leonard Cohen, members of Earth, Wind & Fire (Maurice White, Philip Bailey and Verdine White) and David Foster will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame during a ceremony on June 17th in New York City.

Bonnie Raitt will be inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame on May 5th in Memphis, Tennessee.

Sade's Soldier Of Love debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart on sales of 502,000 copies.  The Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel soundtrack climbed 8 places to #18.  The 2010 Grammy Nominees compilation dropped 16 spots to #21.  Michael Jackson's This Is It soundtrack fell 11 places to #22.  Rob Zombie's Hellbilly Deluxe 2 dropped 29 spots to #37.  The Crazy Heart soundtrack climbed 12 places to #38.

Artists For Haiti's "We Are The World: For Haiti" debuted at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Sade's Soldier Of Love debuted at #4 on the U.K. Albums chart.  Journey's Greatest Hits retains the #12 spot.  George Benson's Classic Love Songs climbed 17 places to #13.  The Alvin And The Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel soundtrack dropped 7 spots to #14.  Fleetwood Mac's The Very Best Of Fleetwood Mac climbed 6 places to #16.  UB40's Labour Of Love 4 debuted at #24.  Barry Manilow's The Greatest Love Songs Of All Time debuted at #26.  Marvin Gaye's Love Marvin: The Greatest Love Songs Of Marvin Gaye climbed 11 spots to #27.  Celine Dion's My Love: The Essential Collection fell 2 places to #30.  Gil Scott-Heron's I'm New Here debuted at #39.

Helping Haiti's "Everybody Hurts" debuted at #1 on the U.K. Singles chart.  Glee Cast's "Don't Stop Believin'" dropped a spot to #5.  Glee Cast's "Halo/Walking On Sunshine" debuted at #9.  Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'" fell 2 places to #11.  John & Edward's "Under Pressure (Ice Ice Baby)" featuring Vanilla Ice dropped 10 spots to #12.  Glee Cast's "It's My Life/Confessions Part II" debuted at #14.  Glee Cast's "Somebody To Love" fell 7 places to #33.

Madonna's "Revolver" featuring Lil Wayne climbed a spot to #4 on the Billboard Dance/Club Play Songs chart.  Tony Moran's "You Are" featuring Frenchie Davis climbed a place to #5.

Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil has released a video for his new single, "Tattoos N' Tequila," from his upcoming solo album due out in March.  Meanwhile, bandmate Nikki Sixx is in the studio writing and recording material for the second Sixx: A.M. album due out later this year.

Social Distortion recently talked with AOL's Spinner about their heading back into the studio to work on a follow-up to 2004's Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll.  "We've just tracked 12 songs this week, and we're going to probably track another five in the next couple of days," said frontman Mike Ness.  Ness also said that the sound of the record is almost "like the Dead Boys meets the Black Crowes or something."

Thrash metal act Overkill have made their new video for "Bring Me The Night" available on YouTube.  The song comes off their latest album, Ironbound.

Robert Plant has announced a tentative title for his next solo album, It's Rude To Say No, according to LedZeppelinNews.com.  The new album, expected later this year, is being produced by Buddy Miller, who joined him and Alison Krauss on tour for Raising Sand.

Iron Maiden have wrapped up the recording of their new studio album in the Bahamas according to producer Kevin Shirley.  "There's still work to do, but the band portion is complete and in the can, so to speak."

Former keyboardist Alan Wilder rejoined Depeche Mode on stage for the first time in nearly 16 years to play piano, as Martin Gore belted out their hit "Somebody," during the encore of their performance at London's Royal Albert Hall for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity.

Axel Rudi Pell has announced that his new 10-track studio album, The Crest, will be released via SPV on Apr. 26th.

Bad Religion will head into the recording studio with producer Joe Barresi on May 1st, after playing a few concerts in California and Nevada, to work on their 15th studio album due out this fall.

Journey's Neal Schon recently talked to Classic Rock Magazine about work on their upcoming album.  "I'm going for a conceptual record because I really feel we have the musicality to pull it off.  We have everybody's attention.  And the days of writing songs that are three-and-a-half minutes long for radio are over."

German thrash metal act Kreator has signed a new long-term deal with Nuclear Blast! Records.  Their album debut will be the follow-up to 2009's Hordes Of Chaos.

The Superions, a side-project of Fred Schneider of the B-52's, have released their official video for their new single, "Who Threw That Ham At Me," on YouTube.  The song comes from their recently released self-titled EP available at iTunes.

Whitesnake vocalist David Coverdale has revealed that interest is out there for a reissue of his 1993 Coverdale/Page album.  "EMI have recently been making overtures to me about putting a 'special edition' together after they heard there were several unreleased tracks... but, time & resource is the problem..."

Debt-ridden EMI owners Terra Firma have made the decision to sell the iconic Abbey Road studios in London in a desperate move to raise $120 million.  During the 1980s, Kate Bush's Never For Ever, The Shadows' Change Of Address, Camel's Nude, The Shadows' Live At Abbey Road and Duran Duran's Notorious were recorded there (Pink Floyd's Delicate Sound Of Thunder was only mixed there.)

Alan Parsons has signed with Frontiers Records for the release of Eye 2 Eye: Live In Madrid on Apr. 6th.  He heads to Europe on tour in March.

Buggles will see the reissue of their 1980 album, Adventures In Modern Recording, in an expanded edition in the U.K. on Apr. 19th via Salvo/ZTT.  The album is appended with demos, B-sides and remixes.  One rare track being included is a demo of the song "Videotheque" which would later be given to Dollar.

Def Leppard will see their 1980 album, On Through The Night, and 1981's High N' Dry released in remastered versions in Japan in May.

Geisha's Chris Doheny and Joe Matera have made a video for a song, "Mystery Writer," off their new album, Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow.  

Madonna is reportedly co-writing and planning to direct a new film telling the love story of King Edward VII and Wallis Simpson.  She will also appear as a celebrity judge on Jerry Seinfeld's new reality show, The Marriage Ref.

Director Oren Moverman is in negotiations to rework the screenplay for Universal Pictures' currently untitled Kurt Cobain film and is set to direct the film about the late Nirvana frontman.

Frankie Goes To Hollywood will see their classic album, Welcome To The Pleasuredome, will be reissued in a deluxe double-CD edition on Apr. 26th in the U.K.  The second disc will include bonus material including the unreleased song "Watusi Love Juicy," an unabridged version of "The Ballad Of 32," studio demo tracks and more.

Former Christian Death vocalist Rozz Williams left a lot of unreleased material on tapes after his 1998 death.  Many of those songs have been remastered from their original cassettes and are being collected as part of a series of CDs called Premature Ejaculation to be released by Malaise Music.

Judas Priest's seminal 1980 album, British Steel, will be released in a limited deluxe expanded edition on May 11th.

Dinosuar Jr.'s J. Mascis has formed a new band named Sweet Apple with Cobra Verde's Tim Parnin and John Petkovic and Witch's Dave Sweetapple.  Their debut album, Love & Desperation will be released in April.

U2's Bono recently told the Irish Independent that their next studio album, Songs Of Ascent, may be out in June.  He also said that the album can be considered a sister album or bookend to No Line On The Horizon just like Zooropa was to Achtung Baby.

Krokus will release their new CD, Hoodoo, in Europe in two weeks.  The album reunites the original line-up of the band.

A new BBC drama about Boy George's life entitled Worried About The Boy is on the way.  Actor Douglas Booth will play George.

A collection of recordings by In The Nursery made during their early years between 1983 and 1985 will be released under the title Aubade via ITN Corporation on Apr. 5th.  The disc also includes a live bonus track that was recorded during their concert debut in Sheffield in 1981.

The Grateful Dead's performance at the John F. Kennedy Stadium in Philadelphia on July 7th, 1989 will be heading to stores on Apr. 20th in a 3-CD, 1-DVD set entitled Crimson, White & Indigo.

Girlschool's 1980 hit single, "Emergency," has been covered by the Cornish youth music charity Livewire and will be released to benefit Haitian earthquake relief.

Singer/songwriter Douglas Lars Fieger, 57, of The Knack lost his 6-year long battle with cancer in his Woodland Hills, California home on Valentine's Day.  The band released 6 studio albums (two during the 1980s) and spent 6 weeks at #1 in 1979 in the U.S. with the song "My Sharona."  Fieger would write for several other artists (including the song "Soul Food To Go" which won a Grammy Award for the Manhattan Transfer), record guest appearances, produce albums for other acts and even appeared regularly on  the television series Roseanne as one of John Goodman's poker buddies.
